The Pleats

Form and assemble the linen pleats for the finished shirt front. This lesson demonstrates how to fold, crease, press, and pin each pleat accurately; turn under the outer seam allowances; compare the completed panels with the pattern; and overlap and baste the two halves in the correct direction. You’ll also learn how to check and square the lower edge before attaching the pleated assembly to the shirt.
